With more than 30 years in software, Steve has built and led the systems that sit at the core of real businesses, from enterprise platforms at IBM and PayPal to data-heavy tools used at scale. Today he works as a company director and technology executive: Co-CEO and CTO of a startup in stealth, Director of Clermont Digital and The Coochin Company, and co-founder of PlotPlan.land and FeedFinda.

He has held executive roles including Chief Innovation Officer at Lilypad Network and Chief Technical Officer at Sniip, where he reported to the CEO and investor board. He has experience securing funding and guiding startups from concept through to launch, and has built multiple businesses from regional Queensland.

Steve is also a recognised voice in the developer community, with hundreds of conference talks delivered worldwide and hundreds of technical articles, blogs, and tutorials published. He mentors peers and emerging talent, has built university courses with RMIT Online, and remains passionate about IoT, 3D printing, and open source. He lives and works completely off-grid in Central Queensland, embracing sustainable living and permaculture approaches.

Risk & Cyber Security: Owned disaster recovery, payment security compliance and audits as a CTO, and disclosed a published software vulnerability while at Snyk.
Technology & Systems: 30+ years designing and overseeing core business systems, from enterprise platforms at IBM and PayPal to ERP and operational platforms.
Stakeholder Engagement: Led technical community and partner engagement for Telstra, IBM, Snyk and PayPal. Media-trained spokesperson and experienced MC.
Workforce Development: Built university courses with RMIT Online, mentors peers and emerging talent, and is growing technology careers in regional Queensland.
Regional Development: Has built multiple businesses while living off-grid in Central Queensland, serving local and interstate clients.
Commercial & Startup: Co-founder of operating companies, with experience securing funding and reporting to an investor board.
